Greetings Nuu-cha-nulth tribal Council, Chiefs and community representatives.

Klahoose First Nation is gravely concerned about the recent poaching of wild Elk in your traditional territory.

Much like your Nations, Klahoose has been involved in the transplant of Roosevelt Elk in our traditional territory. We would be so very hurt and offended if the animals in our territory were thoughtlessly slaughtered like the ones in your home lands. Not only are these acts of wonton waste of resources but it is a direct insult to your culture, rights and an indicator of the lack of respect for your collective peoples.

Our Council stand beside you in your wishes to find justice and we want to extend to you our message of support and solidarity in bringing the guilty parties to the forefront. Strength comes from Nations coming together and supporting one another and Klahoose First Nation sees this as a high priority when it comes this injustice.

Please let us know how we can spread your message to other Nations and organizations.

In support,

James Delorme

Chief Councillor
